And now I finally got a round to buying an iPhone 3G. And I try using BluePhoneElite with that as well – and it turns out it wasn’t the Nokia that was teh crap, it’s BluePhoneElite. And I bought a license for that piece of shit. Well, that pretty much concludes the whole use-laptop-as-phone-handsfree idea. Does not work. Am I doomed to be switching headphones for the rest of my life?

Enter AirPhones. Instead of using the laptop as a headset, I can now use my iPhone as speakers! It works pretty much like AirTunes, only you can not use an iPhone as an AirTunes speaker. AirPhones are even better, as they will also stream audio when playing video with iTunes¹ . As long as your Mac and your iPhone is on the same network – typically WiFi² – you are able to use your iPhone as a speaker with either the built in speaker or headset. And when the phone rings AirPhones takes a break while you talk, then comes back. Pure bliss.

One little trick is to turn down the volume completely on your Mac before you start AirPhones. That way, when the phone rings you will not suddenly get music out of your internal speakers.

All in all, the best money I ever spent on the iPhone appstore. Thanks AirPhones! And remember – do the fancy dance.

Dessverre hadde purken sperra av alt som er av parkeringsplasser for trafikk, så folk vart tvungne til å køyre rundt og rundt i ring. Blir lite liv av sånt, og folk uteblir frå heile greiene. I følge denne artikkelen i Halden Arbeiderblad var ikkje eg den einaste som la merke til dette. Med eit slikt massivt politioppbod som det på onsdag skulle ein tru at ein kunne klare å halde ein viss kontroll sjølv utan å låse ned heile sentrum på den måten. Det er nesten så ein forstår kva dei annsleise ungdommane i København driv og bråkar for – dei får heller ikkje lov å utfolde seg i sin eigen heimby.

Only bad thing is I get pretty flooded with mediocre stuff that I need to get rid of. Unfortunately QuickSilver has no shortcut for “Delete current iTunes track from filesystem and Library”, so I had to set out to get the job done myself. What I eventually landed on was a Automator script that looks like this:

* iTunes action: Get the current iTunes Track

* Finder action: Move to Trash

* Automator action: Run applescript

The applescript looks like this:

set dbid to database ID of current track
set cla to class of current track
next track
delete (some track of library playlist 1 whose database ID is dbid)

Then all I had to do was map a trigger in QuickSilver to run that Application and I was able to delete bad songs the second they started to annoy me!
